Mukha is headed by Dr Girish Rao who is a Senior Professor & Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon having 25+ years of experience in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery & Dental Implants.

Dr Girish Rao spent the whole of the 90s in England and obtained his extensive surgical training at the most prestigeous hospitals such as St.Barts and The Royal London Hospital, London, UK. Dr Girish Rao has been awarded two fellowships by the Royal College of surgeons of England and Ireland. He moved to Bangalore, India in 1999 and set up Mukha, A dedicated Oral & Maxillofacial Surgical Center of excellence helping people with surgical solutions in all areas of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery ever since.

What is Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery?

Oral & Maxillofaical Surgery is a speciality which deals with problems associated with mouth, jaw, face and neck.

It is a speciality which bridges the gap between Dentistry & Surgery. It deals with even simple problems such as a tooth extraction in a medically compromised patient to wisdom tooth surgery and also placement of dental implants. More complicated procedures could be facial trauma with lacerations to the soft tissue or facial fractures involving the facial bones. It also deals with developmental deformities such as cleft lip palate, correction of over grown jaw or undergrown jaw, correction of skull defects in children. Maxillofacial surgery also deals with jaw pathologies such as jaw cysts, and tumours which involves excision and reconstruction.
